Check out the little baby belly kick!

I normally like to post just one or two images at a time, but it is good to break from the norm once in a while.

This photograph was sort of an interesting accident. The sun was so bright, strong and low (for noontime) that it was bouncing off the floor and right onto the mom-to-be…

I had not planned for this but I thought the shadow was a very interesting element. One of the things I love about natural light is that you tend to find things rather than create them. I think it might be interesting to follow up with a baby portrait if we are lucky enough to somehow end up with same light.

For comparison, here is a shot with the studio lights which I quite like, but it has a totally different feel.

This is a pose I have done with many clients, with the husband holding the fabric “off-stage” to create a sweeping line. In this particular case, the line and form of the mom-to-be made for a perfect maternity portrait.
