This couple wanted to incorporate records into their photo session. With a large collection of 45′s we talked about doing a covered nude. None of us were sure if it would work, but I quite like it in this square format. I post processed it to give it a tone consistent with a late 60′s, early 70′s 45 record sleeve.
Though I live in New England, (in Cambridge), I’ve done very few autumn themed maternity portraits and I realized why when planning this one. It’s hard! Not because the leaves don’t photograph well, but because the stay vibrant so briefly it’s hard to gather enough for the session!
Working with the color on these was really interesting – I love how outrageous the color of the leaves is in contrast to the blue tones in the second photo, but overall the warm light of the first one feels more Autumnal to me. If you have any thoughts on the colors (or the photos) please do leave a comment!
I really like this photo, but I wonder if the slight fraying on the fabric’s edge is distracting — and if it is, should I Photoshop in a clean line?
From the same photo session as yesterday as yesterday’s “What’s Kickin’?” photo, I thought this made for a great contrast in style and flavor.
To give this photo more depth, I added extra flowers off into the distance and then matched (and enhanced) the lens blur.
